New to Hou: Las Perras Café & Flor y Miel Bring Bold Flavors, Cultural Roots to Houston’s East End

Houston’s East End just got a whole lot tastier. Las Perras Café and Flor y Miel are officially open at 3401 Harrisburg Blvd, serving up bold flavors, rich culture, and serious neighborhood charm in the heart of Second Ward.

Las Perras Café, a Latina-owned coffee roastery and café founded by Andrea Arana, is more than just a spot to grab your morning latte. It’s a love letter to Latina resilience, storytelling, and community. Specialty drinks are inspired by powerful women like Dolores Huerta, Angela Davis, and Alice Valdez—giving each sip a deeper meaning.

Expect strong coffee, vibrant vibes, and a welcoming space that celebrates culture through every cup. Whether you’re grabbing a morning brew or setting up shop with your laptop, Las Perras has quickly become a gathering place for connection and conversation in East End.

Flor y Miel brings a Latin Caribbean menu full of flavor, heart, and home-style dishes that feel like a hug. Brunch is a must—think cinnamon French toast with oatmeal cream, jerk chicken quesadillas, and the Dominican classic Tres Golpe with mangu, fried cheese, salami, and eggs. Dinner highlights include crispy snapper in spicy coconut sauce, beef stew with sweet plantains, and empanadas in every variety (we’re talking oxtail, crawfish & crab, even mac and cheese).

Flor y Miel’s founder is bringing comfort food with a twist, blending Latin roots with bold, craveable dishes that are already turning heads.
