Families across the Houston area can get free summer meals for kids thanks to a number of local school districts and the Houston Food Bank. From HISD and Katy ISD to Pasadena and Deer Park, several districts are offering free breakfast and lunch programs for children 18 and under at campuses and community sites through July 2025.
Houston Food Bank Free Summer Meal Program
As school cafeterias close for summer, the Houston Food Bank is stepping up to keep kids fed. Starting June 2, children ages 18 and younger, including students with disabilities up to age 21, can receive healthy, no-cost meals through the Summer Food Service Program at 158 sites across the Houston area. The program expects to serve about 800,000 meals this summer, including grab-and-go options for rural families at Sealy Christian Pantry in Sealy and Faith Mission WIC in Brenham. Families can find nearby meal sites by calling 713-223-3700, emailing kidscafe@houstonfoodbank.org, visiting houstonfoodbank.org/our-programs/kids-cafe, or calling 2-1-1.
Cy-Fair ISD Summer Meals Program
This summer, Cy-Fair ISD Nutrition Services is providing free breakfasts and lunches to children 18 and under, including students with disabilities up to age 21. All meal sites operate Monday through Thursday, closing on June 19th for Juneteenth.

Aldine ISD Summer Feeding Program
The Aldine ISD Summer Feeding Program offers free meals for children 18 and younger, plus students with disabilities up to 21. This program is part of the USDA Seamless Summer Option, administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).
- Aldine families can view participating campuses and meal service times at Aldine Summer Feeding Sites.

Klein ISD Summer Meals Program
Klein ISD Nutrition Services is offering free nutritious breakfasts and lunches this summer to children 18 and under, including students with disabilities up to age 21.

Katy ISD Summer Food Program
Katy ISD offers free breakfast and lunch for all children 18 and under starting May 27, no enrollment required. Meals are served Monday through Thursday at select campuses including:

- Faldyn Elementary (May 29–June 26)
- Franz Elementary (May 29–June 26)
- Memorial Parkway Elementary (May 29–June 26)
- Mayde Creek HS 9th Grade Center (June 2–July 31)
- Morton Ranch HS (June 2–July 31)
- Paetow HS (June 2–July 17)
- McDonald Junior High (June 16–June 26)
Breakfast and lunch times vary by location. Note that no meal service will be provided from June 30 to July 4 at some campuses. All meals must be eaten inside the school cafeterias.
IDEA Public Schools Summer Meal Program
IDEA Public Schools offers free breakfast and lunch to all children 18 and younger at all IDEA campuses from June 2 through July 31. Meals are served Monday through Friday with breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals must be eaten on-site. Food service will pause June 20 and June 30–July 4 for federal holidays. For more information, contact cafeteria managers or visit ideapublicschools.org.
Deer Park ISD Summer Feeding Program
Deer Park ISD offers free meals to all children 18 and under, and students with disabilities up to 21 years old. Adults may purchase meals for $3.25 (breakfast) and $5.00 (lunch). Meal sites and schedules include:
- Parkwood Elementary: June 16-26 & July 7-24, Breakfast 8:30–9:30 a.m., Lunch 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
- San Jacinto Elementary: June 2-26 & July 7-17, Breakfast 8:30–9 a.m., Lunch 12:30–1:30 p.m.
- Dabbs Elementary: July 7-17, Breakfast 8–8:30 a.m., Lunch 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
- Deer Park Jr. High: June 16-26 & July 7-24, Breakfast 9–10 a.m., Lunch 12:30–1:30 p.m.

Pasadena ISD Summer Meal Sites
Pasadena ISD provides free meals to all children 18 and younger through the 2025 Summer Food Service Program at multiple campuses. Some locations and dates include:
- Bondy Intermediate: June 2-13, Breakfast 8:30-9:30 a.m., Lunch 11:05-12:25 p.m.
- Kendrick Middle School: June 2-13, Breakfast 8:45-9:15 a.m., Lunch 11:20-12:35 p.m.
- Pasadena Memorial High: June 9-26 & July 14-24, Breakfast 8-8:30 a.m., Lunch 11:30-12 p.m.
- South Belt Elementary: Various June dates, Breakfast 7:20-7:50 a.m., Lunch 10-11:30 a.m.
- Dobie High: June 2-17, Breakfast 7:40-8:30 a.m., Lunch 10:55-12:35 p.m.
- LF Smith Elementary, Pomeroy Elementary, Tegeler Community School, Freeman Elementary, Meador Elementary, Red Bluff Elementary, Turner Elementary, Jessup Elementary, Pasadena High, and Roberts Middle School also have scheduled meal service.
