New to Hou: Confessions Restaurant & Lounge brings luxury dining, late-night vibes to Upper Kirby

Houston’s Upper Kirby neighborhood just got a little more luxurious. Confessions Restaurant & Lounge is now open at 3200 Kirby Drive, bringing an elevated dining experience that blends bold flavors, immersive design, and high-end hospitality.

Opened on April 1, Confessions is more than just a restaurant, it’s a full sensory experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with moody lighting, eye-catching street art, and playful design details like confessional booths and a Mediterranean-inspired patio with a life-sized swing.

Behind the concept is Houston-based entrepreneur Sterling Lewis, known for curating high-energy events and experiences. With Confessions, he’s bringing that same creative vision to the restaurant world, working alongside Chef De’Angelo Whitlow to serve a take on classic Southern comfort food.

Some standouts on the menu include:

  • Oxtail Lo Mein braised in a rich Bourguignon-style sauce
  • Lamb Chop Rockefeller finished with white wine garlic butter
  • Confessions Ribeye, steakhouse-seasoned and seared to perfection
  • Strawberry Cornbread with whipped honey butter
  • Candied Yams topped with amaretto cream and pecans
  • Deep-Fried Bread Pudding served with ice cream

And if you’re the type who’s always looking for a good after-hours option, Confessions delivers. The restaurant is open until 4 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, offering a refined late-night experience with handcrafted mocktails, live DJs, and table-side bottle service. It’s not a nightclub, but it’s definitely a vibe.

The restaurant also includes a private dining room that seats up to 42 guests and offers a private bartender and DJ booth, perfect for special occasions or upscale group dinners.
