The Best Cheddars Vegetarian Menu Options to Try in 2025

One of the best things about Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen is how accommodating the kitchen staff of Cheddars are for limited diets. If you are vegetarian, here’s a look at the “special” vegetarian menu and customizable menu items that make it easy to enjoy a satisfying dining experience.

Appetizers

Cheddar’s has several vegetarian-friendly starters. You can indulge in classics like the Santa Fe spinach dip or Wisconsin cheese bites, both served with tortilla chips. For a crispier option, try onion rings or queso fries without bacon.

Build your own meal

The vegetable plate is a standout choice. I love that Cheddar’s vegetarian options make it so easy to order a bunch of sides and still have a full, satisfying meal. It comes with four made-from-scratch sides, such as fresh broccoli, broccoli cheese casserole, loaded baked potato without bacon, or sweet carrots. Pair it with a house salad or Caesar salad made with crisp lettuce for a lighter meal. Even alfredo sauce can serve as a base for a main dish without meat, giving you comfort food options without straying from your vegetarian choices. Keep in mind that some sides, like southern green beans, may contain pork, so it is always worth asking. French fries, red beans, and black beans are also tasty meat-free sides.

Main course options

Cheddar’s vegetarian menu offers several delicious entrees, or you can create your own by combining sides and swaps. Cheddars vegetarian options include:

Veggie Philly
This vegetarian philly comes stuffed with sautéed mushrooms, onions, and peppers on a hoagie roll topped with melted American cheese. It comes with fries, and you can usually swap for another side.

Spasagna – $10.99
A twist on classic lasagna, this dish layers spaghetti with four cheeses and is baked with homemade alfredo and marinara sauce. Served with garlic bread, it is a hearty vegetarian option.

Kids options
Vegetarian kids will also find choices like grilled cheese or kids penne pasta, which can be paired with alfredo or marinara sauce.

Fun fact about me: I have worked at four different Cheddar’s locations, both privately owned and corporate. I have tried these combinations firsthand and can confidently say you do not have to sacrifice flavor or variety if you are vegetarian.

Salad options

If you want a lighter meal, you can always ask for meat on the side or enjoy a side house salad paired with your favorite vegetarian dish. Cheddar’s makes it easy to customize your meal, so you can enjoy fresh salads options without missing out on flavor. I love the pasta salad or the pecan!
